Step 2, enclosed trailer

After extensive research, I purchased an 8.5'x20' Horton Hauler Hybrid trailer with V nose, 5k torsion axles, 30 amp breaker, lighting, LED lighting in indigo blue. The discount for a couple of year old trailer was not very significant.
Empty weight is 3400#, the Tundra handled it empty without problems.

Step 1, New tow vehicle

After noting the trailblazer was not going to be able to continue tow duties long term, I began researching a replacement. Settling on a used Tundra, we picked up this 2007 model for a pretty good price. Wow do I hate dealerships. It is in great shape and looks practically new for a 5 year old truck.

Savannah Sizzler

After last years pole and second place finish, I came into Roebling hoping to continue to do well. I had a partner this weekend in the form of Flat George, a school project for Wendy's cousin. We decided to let him go racing over this weekend:

Saturday's qualifying was one of the strangest in my facing history. It included two full red flags in one session. In the end, Robert was on pole and I had secured second on the grid. At the start, I tried to lot into line quickly, but Damion muscled through. We raced for a couple of laps before going full course yellow due to a porsche that was parked at the end of the front straight away. The restart was exciting... while had second for a short period of time, a mistake in turn five relegated me to third:

Sunday's race  was a hoot. After deciding to pair up with Damion for qualifying, we ended up with an eight car spec E30 train at the back of the grid with leading the way followed by Damion and Robert. In the end, Walsh took the pole, clearing the rest of us by a half second. I found out being the head of the train isn't good as both Damion and Robert outqualified me putting me in fourth.

The race ended up being 36 1/2 minutes flag to flag for me, and it was grueling. After the start we pretty much tried to get in line and pull away from the pack, the only problem is the top five as able to do just that so there was never time to breath. Walsh took the lead, but Damion got by a few laps later. About 8 minutes in, I was able to get by Walsh taking advantage of lap traffic. The next twenty minutes was an exercise in tire and traffic management simply trying to keep going around fast enough to stay ahead of the guys behind you. About 28 minutes in, I hesitate when a black flag gets thrown in my direction (for another car) while a white flag is already out, and Walsh jumps back by. I had the best view of the turn 1 shenanigans between the thunder roadsters... its ~35 minutes in. Here is the race:

Here is the last lap mayhem:

Wheel Bearing

Today I replaced the drivers side front wheel bearing. The car was making noise from that corner over the course of the last race weekend. Work involved a new bearing, rear dust cover, dust cap (modified to fit). Also purchased a spare wheel bearing to have available in the future.

Pot O Gold Rush

First race of the season for me after an off season full of plans to improve the car... none of which fulfilled due to work on the house.
Opened up the weekend on the scales showing:
2,712 pounds total with half a tank of fuel:
DF  814    PF 710
DR 608    PR 581
For Saturday, I had a good qualifying session and ended up in thirds with a 1:45.9 (even though my racepak shows it as a 1:45.09... have to figure that out). Not bad, but a second and a half behind Eric and Johan.
My strategy for the race was to get in line and get away from the chaos. Overall I was successful, while not having anything for Eric, Johan dropped out and I was able to finish in second place. The excitement with this race was through traffic out of class. I had to stay pretty aggressive to stay ahead of the rest of the e30 pack.
Saturday's Video:

On Sunday, qualifying was a cluster. I got one hot lap before traffic got in the way, and took what I could. Surprisingly, I ended up third again behind Johan and Eric. In the race, I had a bad start (understatement) HORRIBLE start falling to 8th. Finishing 6th, today's race was a knife fight where practically every move opened you up to lose position. I had a great battle with Damion swapping positions at least a dozen times behind Chuck. Some of the most fun I've had in the car... Good clean racing! Unfortunately my video camera tilted to the roof. Here is what I ended up with.
